Q:  Hello, Are teeth whitening strips safe? and if so which one would you recommend?

    A:  close answer...
It is recommended that under the supervision and assessment of a dentist. Enamel is translucent, allowing yellow dentin to radiate through the enamel. Sometimes tooth whitening produces no results in these cases, and porcelain veneers may be indicated. Some of my patients have reported good results with Crest Whitening Strips. Some cases of strips being overused (people addicted to whitening) have resulted in root canal treatments required.

Q:  If my wisdom teeth don't bother me at age 35, should I get them removed anyway?

    A:  close answer...
All dentists are experts in dental health. Regarding your question, If assessed by a dentist or periodontist for periodontal health (i.e. if the wisdom teeth are contributing to an existing periodontal condition), then extraction may be recommended. A panoramic x-ray is usually advised to assess for other pathology such as a cyst or infection in the bone or destruction of the molar in front of the wisdom tooth (resorption). If such pathology exists, the dentist can diagnose and assess as to advise extreaction. If no pathology exists, at age 35, it is acceptable not to extract the tooth.
